Tyres fitted in Ascot

We supply and fit tyres for Ascot and the SL5 villages from the Bracknell workshop, five miles across via Winkfield. Tell us the size on your sidewall or your registration and we will confirm exactly what fits, including the load and speed ratings your car actually needs.

about five miles from Ascot (SL5) via the A329 and A330 through Winkfield

  • Fitted price, not a headline price

What we quote includes fitting, balancing and getting rid of the old tyre, so the figure does not grow at the counter.

  • Matched to your car properly

Correct size, load index and speed rating for what you drive — not the nearest thing in stock.

  • Told honestly when you can wait

If a tyre has legal life left we will say so. We would rather you came back than bought something you did not need.

Load rating matters if you tow

The code on your sidewall is not just a size. In 225/45 R17 94W, the 94 is the load index and the W is the speed rating, and both are specified for your car for a reason — fitting something lower rated to save money is a genuine safety issue and can invalidate insurance. It matters especially if you tow a horse trailer, because the towing car carries the trailer's nose weight on top of its own load. Age is worth watching too on cars that cover few miles, as rubber hardens with time rather than mileage.

We also cover Sunninghill, Sunningdale, North Ascot, Winkfield and Cheapside, all within a short run of the workshop.

Tyres fitted in Ascot — common questions

Do you fit tyres for Ascot, Sunningdale and Sunninghill?
Yes, at our workshop on London Road in Bracknell, around five miles from Ascot via the A329 and A330 through Winkfield.
What do the numbers and letters on my tyre mean?
Taking 225/45 R17 94W: 225 is the width in millimetres, 45 is the sidewall height as a percentage of that width, R17 is the wheel diameter in inches, 94 is the load index and W is the speed rating. Match or exceed the load and speed ratings your car specifies.
Should I fit a higher load rating if I tow a trailer?
Never go below what the manufacturer specifies, and going up can be sensible for regular towing since the towing vehicle carries the trailer's nose weight as well as its own. Tell us what you tow and we will recommend accordingly rather than guessing.
What is the legal minimum tyre tread in the UK?
1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tread, all the way around the tyre. Below that it is up to £2,500 and three penalty points per tyre, and grip in wet weather drops off well before you reach the limit.
Do you need my registration or my tyre size?
Either works. The size is moulded into the sidewall, like 205/55 R16 91V. If the car has had different wheels fitted at some point, the sidewall is the more reliable of the two.
