Our advice
Do not over-oil a cotton filter
Reusable cotton filters need cleaning and re-oiling, but too much oil can coat the air mass sensor and cause poor running and warning lights. Follow the maker's cleaning kit instructions, or bring it in and we will service it.
BMC Air Filter FAQ
How often should a reusable filter be cleaned?
Follow the maker's guidance, usually at a set mileage, and sooner on dusty roads. Check it at every oil service.
