MOT and servicing in Fleet
We MOT and service cars for Fleet and Church Crookham drivers at our Bracknell workshop, twelve miles away up the M3 from junction 4a. Plenty of cars around Elvetham Heath and the newer estates are coming up to their first MOT, and that is a good point to have someone look at the car properly for the first time.
about twelve miles from Fleet (GU51 and GU52) via the M3 to junction 4a, or across through Sandhurst and Yateley
Quoted before we start
If the car needs work you hear the cost first. Nothing gets done on the assumption you would have said yes.
Failures and advisories separated
We tell you what has actually failed and what is only wearing, so you can decide what to spend and when.
Repaired in the same workshop
Anything found can usually be put right while the car is already with us, rather than booking a second visit elsewhere.
Your car's first MOT
In England a new car needs its first MOT three years from the date it was first registered, not three years from when you bought it, which catches out people who bought nearly new. Check the date on your V5C. The first test is also the point where the original tyres, wiper blades and brake pads are often at the end of their life, and where a car that has only had dealer services may have advisories nobody mentioned. Book a service and MOT together and we will deal with both in one visit.
We also cover Church Crookham, Elvetham Heath, Crookham Village, Ancells Farm and Dogmersfield, all within a short run of the workshop.
MOT and servicing in Fleet — common questions
- Do you do MOTs for Fleet?
- Yes. We are in Bracknell, about twelve miles from Fleet via the M3 or across through Sandhurst and Yateley. Most MOTs are same day, so you can drop off and collect.
- When is my car's first MOT due?
- Three years from the date it was first registered, which is on your V5C. If you bought the car at a year old, it is due two years after you bought it, not three.
- Does servicing with you affect my manufacturer warranty?
- Not if the service follows the manufacturer's schedule with the right parts and fluids, which we do and record on the invoice. Keep those invoices and your warranty is protected.
- How do I check when my MOT is due?
- Look it up free on the GOV.UK MOT history service with just your registration. It shows the expiry date, plus every past result, advisory and recorded mileage — useful for spotting a recurring fault or a mileage discrepancy.
- Can I drive my car if the MOT has expired?
- Only to a pre-booked MOT test or to a garage for repairs. Otherwise you risk a fine of up to £1,000, your insurance may not be valid, and you cannot renew the tax without a current MOT.
