Tyre fitting

Tyres fitted in Basingstoke

We fit tyres for Basingstoke drivers at our Bracknell workshop, about twenty-three miles up the M3. It makes most sense when the car is coming in for a service or MOT anyway, and we will happily fit tyres in the same visit.

about twenty-three miles from Basingstoke (RG21 to RG24) via the M3 to junction 6

  • Fitted price, not a headline price

What we quote includes fitting, balancing and getting rid of the old tyre, so the figure does not grow at the counter.

  • Matched to your car properly

Correct size, load index and speed rating for what you drive — not the nearest thing in stock.

  • Told honestly when you can wait

If a tyre has legal life left we will say so. We would rather you came back than bought something you did not need.

What a puncture repair can and cannot fix

Not every puncture can be repaired safely. The British Standard for car tyre repairs only allows repairs within the central three-quarters of the tread, for holes up to 6mm across. A puncture near the edge of the tread or in the sidewall cannot be repaired properly, and neither can a tyre that has been driven on flat, because the sidewall breaks down inside. If you have a puncture, stop as soon as it is safe rather than driving on it. That often makes the difference between a repair and a new tyre.

We also cover Chineham, Old Basing, Brighton Hill, Hatch Warren, Kempshott and Popley, all within a short run of the workshop.

Tyres fitted in Basingstoke — common questions

Do you fit tyres for Basingstoke?
Yes, at our workshop in Bracknell, about twenty-three miles via the M3. It is easiest to combine with a service or MOT so the car makes one trip.
Can you repair my puncture?
If it is in the central part of the tread, under 6mm, and the tyre was not driven on flat, usually yes. Sidewall damage, or a puncture near the edge of the tread, means a new tyre. We will show you why.
Can I have tyres fitted with my service?
Yes. Tell us your size when you book and we will have them in ready for the same visit.
What is the legal minimum tyre tread in the UK?
1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tread, all the way around the tyre. Below that it is up to £2,500 and three penalty points per tyre, and grip in wet weather drops off well before you reach the limit.
Do you need my registration or my tyre size?
Either works. The size is moulded into the sidewall, like 205/55 R16 91V. If the car has had different wheels fitted at some point, the sidewall is the more reliable of the two.
